Vintage Bronze Infant of Prague Medal, Trefoil

The Vintage Bronze Infant of Prague Medal is built around a vested and crowned figure standing on clouds, rays breaking out behind the head and winged cherub faces crowding the cloudbank below. The reverse is given to a flaming heart surmounted by a small cross, with rays rising above it.
The figure is the dressed statue of the Holy Infant honored at Prague, whose devotion spread out of Bohemia and took particular root in the homes of Spain and Latin America. Its promise is a domestic one, peace in the household and provision for the family that keeps it, on the old understanding that the more the Infant is honored, the more he blesses those who honor him. There is no lettering on either face. The devotion is carried by the two images alone, the Infant on one side and the burning heart on the other.
The Infant of Prague medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
