Vintage Yellow Bronze Rose Medal with Miraculous Medal Reverse

The front of the Vintage Yellow Bronze Rose Medal is a rose, a full-blown bloom with a bud beside it and two leaves below, modelled in the round and cut to the outline of the flower. Turn it over and the devotion declares itself: the Miraculous Medal reverse, the Virgin standing with her hands lowered and open, and beneath her the letter M surmounted by a cross with a bar, ringed by stars.
That reverse is the design Saint Catherine Labouré was shown at the Rue du Bac in Paris in 1830, when Our Lady asked that a medal be struck to this pattern and promised graces to all who wore it. The M beneath the cross is Mary standing beneath her Son, and the stars are the crown of the woman of Revelation. The rose on the front is her flower too, so both faces say the same thing in different languages. At 5/8" the medal wears very lightly.
The medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
