The Vintage Yellow Bronze Eucharistic Chalice and Host Medal is a long six-sided panel given over entirely to the altar. A stemmed chalice stands at the center with a Host above its cup, marked with a cross; wheat rises on both sides in stiff upright sprays and heavy clusters of grapes sit at the foot of the stem. Small cast knops finish the corners and keep the shape from feeling severe.
Bread and wine, wheat and vine: the oldest shorthand there is for the Mass, worked here in low relief with no inscription needed to explain it. What is sown and harvested and pressed becomes the Body and Blood, and the medal says so without a word.
