The Vintage White Bronze Miraculous Medal Rosary Center with Cherub gathers three things into one small casting. An IHS monogram crests the top in a curl of scrollwork, a winged cherub head looks out from the foot, and between them, framed in scrolls, the Virgin stands on the globe with rays falling from her open hands. The reverse is pierced clean through with the letter M beneath a cross, ringed by stars.
Both faces reproduce the Miraculous Medal shown to St. Catherine Laboure in the Rue du Bac in Paris in 1830. Around the oval runs the invocation she was given, O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE, and the crest carries IHS, the monogram of the name of Jesus, so the Son is named above his mother at the head of the piece.
