This is the Untier of Knots devotion made as a rosary center, arch-topped and finished with a pierced fleur-de-lis crest. The front shows Mary standing full length with small angels attending her; the reverse shows only her hands, drawing patiently at a long cord whose knots are cast one after another along its length.
Both faces are lettered in Spanish. The front reads Madre de Dios, Mother of God; the reverse carries Madre nuestra above the hands and Protegeme below, Our Mother, protect me, which is as plain a prayer as this devotion has ever needed. Mary Undoer of Knots comes from an old German painting and a still older idea: that what Eve tied by her disobedience, Mary untied by her yes. People bring her tangles that will not come loose on their own.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
