The Vintage Bronze St. Patrick Rosary Center is worked on both faces. The front shows a haloed bishop standing full length in cope and mitre, a tall staff in his right hand, water and low hills behind him, and serpents driven along the ground at his feet. Around the rim, in plain capitals, runs SAINT PATRICK.
The snakes are the oldest and best-loved of the legends attached to him, the young Briton carried off as a slave to Ireland who came back as its bishop and was said to have driven every serpent from the island. The reverse is quieter: a plain Latin cross among sprays of palm or fern, the rest of the field left open, so the piece reads as a portrait from the front and as a cross from behind.
This rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
