The Vintage Bronze St. Joseph with Lilies Openwork Medal shows the saint at half length with the Christ Child gathered against him and lily stems rising on either side, the relief set in a shield-headed panel within a pierced oval frame. On the reverse a veiled figure prays in profile within a plain roundel, hands joined and head slightly bowed.
The lily is Joseph's emblem, the sign of the purity of his guardianship, and the Child held close against him is his whole vocation in a single gesture: the man given charge of what mattered most. He is honoured as patron of fathers, of workers and of a happy death. Together the two faces make a Holy Family in miniature, the father who protects, the mother who prays, the Child between them, and the openwork around the panel lets light through so the figures stay legible at a small size.
The medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
