The Vintage Bronze St. Joseph and the Christ Child Center is a small architectural scene. Two fluted columns carry a leafy arch, and beneath it a bearded figure in a long robe holds a tall staff that breaks into blossom at the top, his free hand steadying a small child at his side. Foliage and one broad flower fill the ground, and the whole panel is pierced through.
The flowering staff is St. Joseph's own attribute, from the old account of the choosing of Mary's husband, when the rod of the carpenter alone came into bloom. He is patron of fathers, of workers, of the universal Church, and of a happy death, having died in the company of Jesus and Mary. For a rosary prayed for a family, a trade, or a father's intentions, no center is more fitting.
The St. Joseph center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the piece's vintage character.
