Vintage Bronze Round Radiant Crucifix

A round disc of fine radiating lines sits behind the crossing of the Vintage Bronze Round Radiant Crucifix, and cast into that disc is a second, equal-armed cross framing the head and shoulders of the figure, a halo and a cross at once. The arms sweep out to fleur-like terminals, and the shaft below the feet tapers to a small fan.
Above the head a banner beneath a little crown carries INRI, the Latin Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews, which Pilate ordered fixed to the cross in three languages. The crown set over those words turns the sentence around: a title written in mockery, carried here as simple fact. The rayed disc behind the corpus says the same thing in light.
The round radiant crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the crucifix's vintage character.
