The Vintage Bronze Rose Points Crucifix ends its arms not square but in points, each a small pointed diamond set with a rose at its centre. Behind the corpus a fan of fine rays opens from the crossing and runs a little way out along the arms, and at the foot the shaft widens into a broader diamond from which a foliate spray rises toward the figure.
The corpus is slender and quietly modelled, the head fallen forward, and it is given room to be seen against the rays rather than crowded by them. Roses have stood beside the cross in Catholic devotion for centuries, for the Rosary that is named a garland of them, for the martyrs, and for the sweetness the Church has always found in the middle of the Passion. At an inch and three-eighths this is a small crucifix, well suited to a chaplet or a child's rosary.
The crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
