The Vintage Bronze Ringed Crucifix with Budded Arms is built on a circle. A ring runs behind the corpus and through the angles of the cross, and where the arms pass beyond it they end in budded clusters of small round bosses. A scrolled band arcs above the crossbar, and the outline keeps the slight irregularity of hand-modelled folk metal, no two curves quite matching.
What this crucifix says, it says by shape. The ring is one of the oldest figures for eternity and for the world, and closing it around the Cross puts the Crucifixion at the center of both, the death that holds time and creation together. The budded terminals add the Trinity in the same wordless way, three lobes at every point. It is a compact piece with a great deal gathered into it.
