Two hearts lie interlaced at the middle of the Vintage Bronze Ornate Twin Hearts Rosary Center, one overlapping the other, with a fleur-de-lis rising between them and a five-arched crown set above. Around that device the metal opens into a pierced quatrefoil of scrollwork, rosettes and small flower clusters, with a bird facing in from either side.
The paired hearts are the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, joined and crowned together, two devotions the Church has always kept within reach of each other since the second exists entirely for the sake of the first. The crown and the fleur-de-lis are the marks of the French workshops that furnished rosaries through the nineteenth century. At an inch and a half it is generous for a center and reads clearly at arm's length.
