The Vintage Bronze Miraculous Medal Rosary Center shows Our Lady at the center of a large oval, her arms lowered and opened outward, her mantle falling in long folds to a rounded base. The field on either side of her is cut clean through so light passes around the figure as the rosary moves, and a raised band of capitals runs around the oval.
That band carries the invocation of the Miraculous Medal: O MARY CONCEIVED WITHOUT SIN PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE. St. Catherine Laboure was shown the design in Paris in 1830 and told to have it struck, with the promise that those who wore it would receive great graces. Her open hands pour out those graces, and having the words at the center means the rosary begins and ends with them in the hand.
