The Vintage Bronze Celtic Ringed Crucifix sets Christ at the crossing with the ring standing behind him, scored with close radiating rays so the figure appears against a rising sun. A triquetra is worked into the upper arm and into each side arm, and a small pointed panel finishes the foot of the shaft.
The knots carry the meaning. A triquetra is drawn in one unbroken line, three lobes in a single band, and has been read as the Trinity since the Insular monks first cut it into stone and gospel books. Setting three of them around a crucifix says plainly whose death this is and who receives it: the Son offered, the Father receiving, the Spirit binding the two together. It makes a natural companion to the plain ringed cross in the same pattern.
The Celtic ringed crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the crucifix's vintage character.
