Product Details

The Vintage Bronze Alleluia Plaque Medal is a square French plaque in the Art Nouveau manner, modelled with two haloed figures leaning together in profile, one winged and one veiled with an open book held against the breast, while light breaks across the upper corners. The reverse is quiet by contrast: a spray of lilies in low relief, an engraved script cipher, and a date.

Along the lower border of the front runs the single word ALLELUIA, the Easter acclamation the Church keeps silent through Lent and then sings again, and the engraved script on the reverse closes with Juin 1906, June 1906. Lilies, an Alleluia and a June date belong together: this was a keepsake made to mark a day in a family's life, the kind of medal given at a first Communion and kept in a drawer for sixty years. Both the word and the date belong to the antique original.

The plaque medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.

  • Made in the USA
  • Artisan-cast from an antique original
  • Finished by hand, so every piece is subtly unique.
  • Buy the medal alone, or add an optional chain or cord necklace
  • Add a cord or chain to have it arrive assembled and ready to wear
  • Arrives in a deluxe velour jewelry box
