Vintage Bronze Alpha and Omega Crucifix

The Vintage Bronze Alpha and Omega Crucifix is built on a cross whose four points open into rounded quatrefoils, each one carrying a device. On the left arm is the Greek A, alpha; on the right, Ω, omega. A monogram of crossed letters fills the roundel at the crossing, directly behind the corpus, and a descending bird with spread wings occupies the quatrefoils above and below.
Alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, and the title Christ takes in the Book of Revelation: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Set on either side of the corpus, they turn a cross into a statement about who hangs upon it, the one in whom all things begin and in whom all things are gathered up. The descending dove above and below brings the Spirit into the same small field.
This crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
