In December 1531, near Tepeyac Hill outside Mexico City, Our Lady appeared to St. Juan Diego and asked that a church be built in her honor. As a sign for the doubting bishop, she had Juan Diego gather roses that were out of season; when he opened his tilma, her image was miraculously imprinted upon it. That image of Our Lady of Guadalupe remains one of the most beloved and venerated in the Catholic world. Her feast is celebrated on December 12th.
This brown scapular carries the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on one side and the roses of the miracle on the other.
Crafted from strong American paracord and soft Australian merino wool, it is made to be worn every day — comfortable against the skin and built to last. The design includes a pocket to hold a favorite sacred medal, keeping it close without wearing the cord.
