Our Lady, Star of the Sea (also known as Stella Maris) is a beloved title of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is one of the most ancient titles of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dating back to St. Jerome in the 5th century. Just as sailors looked to the stars for guidance across treacherous waters, Mary serves as our guiding star leading us safely to Christ. The medieval hymn Ave Maris Stella ("Hail, Star of the Sea") has been sung for over a thousand years, honoring Mary as the bright beacon who lights our way through life's storms.
