Our Lady of Good Counsel (also known as Mater Boni Consilii) is a beloved title of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This devotion honors the miraculous fresco that appeared at Genazzano, Italy on April 25, 1467. According to tradition, a luminous cloud descended upon an unfinished church wall, accompanied by heavenly music. When the cloud lifted, a paper-thin fresco of the Madonna and Child was revealed, said to have been miraculously transported from Albania. The image depicts the Child Jesus tenderly embracing His Mother and has inspired centuries of devotion and countless miracles.
These Our Lady of Good Counsel medals, available in 14K gold, Sterling Silver, and Gold-Filled, honor Mary as invoked for wisdom and guidance in decisions. Her feast day is April 26. Wearing this medal invites Mary's intercession and protection—Pope Leo XIII added "Mother of Good Counsel" to the Litany of Loreto in 1903.
