The Vintage Yellow Bronze Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary Center gives itself over almost entirely to scrollwork. Our Lady stands at the foot in her mandorla of rays, hands joined and head inclined, while above her the trefoil head of the center is filled edge to edge with curling openwork that catches light from every angle. The reverse repeats those scrolls and letters the devotion plainly across the lower panel: OUR LADY of Guadalupe.
The devotion goes back to Tepeyac in December 1531, to Juan Diego, the roses he gathered out of season, and the image left on his tilma when he opened it. Our Lady met him speaking his own language and called herself his mother, and no other title of hers is carried by more people today. The warm yellow bronze suits an image that has always been described in terms of light.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
