At the heart of the Vintage White Bronze Draped Our Lady of Grace Rosary Center is the image most Catholics know from the Miraculous Medal: Our Lady standing on the globe, veiled and robed, her arms lowered and open with rays falling from her hands. Around that oval is cast a draped frame, like a curtain drawn back and gathered into points at the shoulders, which lifts the medal off the flat.
The globe beneath her feet is the world she prays for, and the rays are the graces given to those who ask. Saint Catherine Labouré was shown the image in Paris in 1830 and told to have it struck; within a few years it had spread across Europe, and the pattern has stayed in use ever since. The drapery around it follows the older habit of framing a holy image as though it stood in a shrine with the curtain pulled aside.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
