The Vintage Sterling Silver Miraculous Medal Center with Flowers is asymmetric and plant-like. The Virgin stands on a small globe at the right, her arms lowered and opened with rays falling from her hands, exactly as she is shown on the Miraculous Medal. The left half of the piece is given to a large open flower and curling stems that grow up and around her, with a single bud hanging below.
That figure comes from the apparition to Saint Catherine Laboure in the Rue du Bac in Paris in 1830, and the rays from Our Lady's hands are the graces she said would be given to those who ask. What makes this center uncommon is the flowering frame around so familiar a figure, nearer to Art Nouveau than to the usual plain oval. Nothing on it is lettered; the image is left to speak alone.
This rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in sterling silver in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
