The Vintage Bronze Twin Hearts and Crown Pendant is built from three simple shapes. Two hearts of equal size lean together and overlap, and where their outlines cross they draw a third small heart at the centre. Above them sits a pierced crown with a beaded band and four raised points, so the whole piece is outline and open air.
Two hearts joined beneath a crown is one of the enduring images of Christian devotion: the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, united and reigning together, the love of the Son and the love of the Mother offered as one. Given between two people it carries a second reading just as naturally, of two loves held under a single crown. The openwork takes its colour from whatever lies behind it and reads clearly at a distance.
