The St. Therese pendant is a figure cast fully in the round, tall and narrow, standing on her own small stepped base. A veiled woman in a long religious habit folds her arms across her breast, and gathered into them is a heaped armful of roses, modelled closely enough that the individual blooms show. A slender wreath rests at her head.
The Carmelite habit and the roses are how St. Therese of Lisieux is known. She died at twenty-four, having promised to spend her heaven doing good on earth and to let fall a shower of roses, and her Little Way, holiness found in small and unnoticed acts rather than great ones, has made her one of the most loved saints of the modern Church.
