The Vintage Bronze St. Thérèse of Lisieux Medal carries a profile bust of the young Carmelite in her veil, the modeling soft and drawn from the photographs her sister took of her. Her name in religion rings the rim: SŒUR THÉRÈSE DE L'ENFANT JÉSUS, Sister Thérèse of the Child Jesus. On the reverse a full-blown rose sheds its petals inside a wreath of small flowers.
Around that rose runs her promise: Je veux passer mon ciel à faire du bien sur la terre, I want to spend my heaven doing good upon earth. The shower of roses she foretold is why petals fall across this face, and why she is asked for small favors by so many who have never asked a saint for anything else. She died at twenty-four and is now a Doctor of the Church.
