The Vintage Bronze St. Hubert Rosary Center is built from two shapes. A curved hunting horn, its flared bell filling one side, bends round into a circle, and within that circle a stag stands in mid-stride, its head raised and turned outward, antlers lifted clear against the frame.
Horn and stag together name Saint Hubert. A nobleman who rode out to hunt on Good Friday rather than go to church, he met a great stag in the forest of the Ardennes with a cross shining between its antlers, and a voice that asked how long he meant to chase beasts instead of his own soul. He gave away what he had, became a bishop, and is honored now as patron of hunters, of foresters, and of those who work with dogs and horses. The openwork casting is delicate for its scale, and the piece has real presence on a rosary made for someone who loves the outdoors.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
