Product Details

The Vintage Bronze St. Hubert Commemorative Medal sets both faces in a wood of finely etched saplings, which is exactly where this saint belongs. St. Hubert stands in mitre and chasuble with his crozier, and beside him the stag that turned to face him during a hunt, a cross standing bright between its antlers. A small chapel and a hunting horn fill the far side of the clearing.

Hubert was a nobleman who rode out to hunt on a Good Friday morning and met that stag in the forests of the Ardennes; he gave up the life he had, became bishop of Liege, and is honored as the patron of hunters, foresters, trappers and everyone who works with dogs. The reverse is lettered in a clearing among the same trees: SANCTUS HUBERTUS, his death year marked +727, then ORA PRO NOBIS, pray for us, and the date 1977, from a commemoration held twelve hundred and fifty years after he died.

This medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.

  • Made in the USA
  • Artisan-cast from an antique original
  • Finished by hand, so every piece is subtly unique.
  • Buy the medal alone, or add an optional chain or cord necklace
  • Add a cord or chain to have it arrive assembled and ready to wear
  • Arrives in a deluxe velour jewelry box
