The Vintage Bronze Servus Mariae Medal opens on a tender scene: the Virgin bends her cheek toward the Child, who is haloed in rays and turns into her shoulder, the two of them wrapped together in one heavy mantle.
Around them runs the Latin promise SERVUS MARIAE NUNQUAM PERIBIT, a servant of Mary shall never perish, a line long carried by Marian confraternities and sodalities as their own. The reverse is more austere and just as eloquent: a long cross-staff stands point down over a stand of fir trees with a small chapel among them, and above it a cross rises in a triangle of rays. Across the field are lettered CARITAS CHRISTI and REGNUM MARIAE, the love of Christ and the reign of Mary. Together the two faces make one complete statement: the love that saves, the Mother who intercedes, and the promise that whoever serves her is not lost.
