Vintage Bronze Sancta Anna Medal with the Tree

The Vintage Bronze Sancta Anna Medal carries a tree on its front: a broad crown of leaves, a heavy trunk, roots knotted over the ground at the foot, and standing within the branches a small haloed figure with her arms held out. The words PRO and EIS are set into the field on either side of the trunk, and the reverse holds a crowned monogram over a scroll.
Around it runs the Latin legend SANCTA ANNA ORA PRO NOBIS, Saint Anne, pray for us. Anne, the mother of Our Lady and grandmother of Christ, is asked for exactly this kind of intercession, and the tree on the front is the family tree of which she is the root, the line running from her through Mary to the Child. At the foot of the reverse a Roman-numeral date, A.D. MCMLX, belongs to the original piece.
