The Vintage Bronze Sacred Heart and Crowned Virgin Rosary Center is an oval carrying two of the most familiar images in Catholic devotion. The front is given to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, shown half-length with one hand lifted in blessing and the flaming heart held at his breast, a burst of long rays rising behind his head. The reverse shows a crowned Virgin standing in a wide bell-shaped mantle, framed by an arched niche of radiating segments in the manner of a shrine statue dressed for a feast.

The Sacred Heart is devotion at its most direct, the love of Christ shown as an organ of the body rather than an idea, and it has been the anchor of Catholic family prayer since the seventeenth century. The cone-mantled Virgin opposite belongs to the dressed shrine statues of Spain and Latin America, robed and crowned by their parishes and carried out once a year. Between them the piece holds the two halves of how the rosary is actually prayed, to the Heart of Christ through the hands of his mother. The modelling is soft and deep, the way an older workshop's die tends to print.

The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
