Vintage Bronze Road Medal: St. Christopher and Our Lady

The Vintage Bronze Road Medal carries a travelling scene on each face. On one, a bearded man leans on his staff and wades through moving water with a child seated on his shoulder, the child holding a small orb of flame: St. Christopher, who carried the weight of the world across the river without knowing what he bore.
The other face shows a veiled woman on a road, a long staff in one hand and the Child gathered in her arm, with a wayside cross behind her, a stand of pines at the right, and stars and a crescent moon overhead. It is Our Lady as a fellow traveller, on the road herself. Medals of this pattern were made for people on the move and were meant to go with them rather than stay at home, and both patrons of the journey are held on a single disc.
The road medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
