The Vintage Bronze Precious Blood Rosary Center takes the shape of a heart. A crown of thorns is laid across it, a row of drops falls down its face, and a small rayed cross rises from the top between scrolled volutes turning outward at either side.
The falling drops name the devotion to the Precious Blood, kept especially through the month of July. It turns attention away from the instruments of the Passion and toward what was poured out through them, the blood of Christ offered for the life of the world, while the thorns and the cross above keep the whole Passion in view at once. Set at the join of a rosary, the image comes back to the fingers at the end of every circuit of the beads, so the intention is renewed each time the prayers come round.
