Both faces of the Vintage Bronze Our Lady of Grace and Sacred Heart Center are figured. On the front Mary stands with her arms lowered and open, veiled and robed, against a stippled ground and ringed along the upper edge by cast stars, the pose of Our Lady of Grace familiar from the Miraculous Medal. The reverse shows a haloed, bearded bust with rays behind it and a heart at the breast, the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Two large open loops are cut through the body of the center on either side of the figures, with a twisted rope border running around the openings, so the piece reads as a silhouette as much as a relief. The two images make the pairing Catholic devotion returns to most often, the heart that loved to the end and the mother who points away from herself toward it, and a rosary carrying both has the whole of its prayer at the center.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
