Product Details

The Vintage Bronze Joan of Arc Medal with Fleur-de-Lis Reverse is small enough to wear every day. Joan is shown in profile, bare-headed with cropped hair and a plate of armour at the shoulder, her name arcing above her. The reverse is given over to a crowned column of three fleurs-de-lis with thistle leaves springing at either side.

The French lettering reads JEANNE D'ARC, with the dates 1412 and 1431 set on either side of her head, the year she was born at Domremy and the year she was burned at Rouen at nineteen. The fleur-de-lis is the flower of France and of the Virgin both, and Joan is patroness of France and of soldiers, asked for courage by people who have to act long before they feel ready to.

The medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique French original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.

  • Made in the USA
  • Artisan-cast from an antique original
  • Finished by hand, so every piece is subtly unique.
  • Buy the medal alone, or add an optional chain or cord necklace
  • Add a cord or chain to have it arrive assembled and ready to wear
  • Arrives in a deluxe velour jewelry box
