The Vintage Bronze Jerusalem Cross Medal with Head of Christ is a small catechism in metal. Its form is the Jerusalem cross, a stepped cross with a smaller cross set into each of the four quarters, the badge of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem and worn ever since by crusaders and by pilgrims returning from the Holy Land. At the center, raised inside a plain circle, is the bearded head of Christ in profile.
Around him the medal is lettered with four signs for one name. IHS stands across the head, the ancient monogram of the name of Jesus taken from its Greek spelling; A and Ω flank the portrait, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last of the Book of Revelation; and below sits the Chi-Rho, the first two letters of Christos laid across one another. Whichever way you turn it, it says the same thing.
