The Vintage Bronze Etched Crucifix with Star and Eye of Providence is the largest of these crucifixes and the most unusual. The arms end in broad trefoil lobes, and the design is etched into the surface in fine line rather than modelled up in relief. The top lobe carries the Eye of Providence set in a triangle within a six-pointed star and surrounded by a glory of rays; each side lobe holds a haloed half-length figure, the witnesses who traditionally stand at either side of the cross. Below the corpus the upright widens into a scalloped foot.

The Eye in the triangle is an old and straightforward image of God the Father: the triangle for the Trinity, the open eye for the providence that sees and provides, placed above the cross so that the Father is present at the Son's death. It belonged to Catholic devotional art long before it belonged to anything else. The etched line and the radiant Eye give this crucifix an older, more austere character than the modelled crucifixes beside it.
