Vintage Bronze Banded Crucifix and Full Rose Center

The Vintage Bronze Banded Crucifix and Full Rose Center pairs two very different tempers. The crucifix is long and lean, its arms and shaft cut into flat parallel bands that step back from the figure, with a small scrolled cap above the head and a slender corpus quietly modelled at the crossing. The banding gives the whole cross a stepped, architectural rhythm.
Set against that severity, the center is entirely soft: a full-blown flower of layered petals, each one deeply cupped so the heart of it holds shadow. The rose has belonged to Our Lady since the rosary took its name from a garland of them, and the contrast between the stern cross and the open bloom is the whole pleasure of this pairing, the Passion and the Mother at either end of the same set of beads.
The crucifix and center were faithfully reproduced from antique originals and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves their vintage character.
