The Art Deco Mary Rosary Center is a small triangle of stepped bars and fluted rays framing a domed oval, and within that oval the Blessed Virgin stands veiled in very low relief, softly modelled beneath the arch of her niche.
Art Deco reached rosary makers in the 1920s and 1930s as it reached everything else, and this center is the proof: the same stepped geometry and radiating lines that were going up on theaters and apartment blocks, turned to Marian devotion. The strong diagonals catch light from every angle, which is plainly what the original designer wanted, and the antiqued finish settles into the recesses so the geometry stays crisp. At half an inch it gives a rosary a period character without adding weight or fuss.
The Art Deco center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
