Saint Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel is one of the three angels named in Sacred Scripture. His name means “Who is like God?” — a rhetorical challenge to all who oppose the Almighty. In the Book of Revelation, Michael leads the heavenly armies against Satan and his fallen angels, casting them out of heaven. He is the protector of the Church, the defender of souls at the hour of death, and the champion of God’s people against spiritual evil. Catholics have invoked his protection for centuries through the Prayer to Saint Michael. Soldiers, police officers, and first responders have long claimed him as their patron — for like them, he stands guard over the innocent, asking nothing in return.

Saint Michael teaches us the virtues of courage, spiritual strength, and selfless service to others.
