St. Theodore the Studite
Constantinople abbot (759-826), reformer of the great monastery of Stoudios from 798, where he wrote the Studite typikon that shaped Byzantine cenobitic monasticism. Foremost defender of the icons during the second iconoclast crisis under Leo V the Armenian; thrice exiled. Pre-Congregation.
