St. Stephen Theodore Cuenot
French Society of Foreign Missions of Paris (MEP) bishop in Vietnam (1802-1861), of Beaulieu in Doubs; missionary in Cochinchina from 1828, vicar apostolic of Eastern Cochinchina from 1835. Died in prison at Bình Định awaiting execution under the persecution of Tự Đức. Among the 117 Martyrs of Vietnam canonized 1988 by John Paul II.
