St. Stephen Pongrácz
Hungarian-Slovak Jesuit and martyr (1582-1619), Transylvanian-born Jesuit of the Magyar mission; with the Polish Jesuit Bl. Melchior Grodziecki and the Hungarian secular priest Marko Križin tortured to death at Košice by Calvinist troops of George Rákóczi for refusing apostasy. The Three Martyrs of Košice canonized 1995 by John Paul II.
