St. Stanislaus Kostka
Polish Jesuit novice (1550-1568), of magnate family, traveled on foot from Vienna to Augsburg to find St. Peter Canisius after his uncle barred him from entering the Jesuits in Vienna; admitted at Rome by St. Francis Borgia. Died at age 17, ten months into his novitiate. Patron of novices and Polish youth; canonized 1726 by Benedict XIII.
