St. Simon the Apostle
Apostle, called "the Zealot" or "the Cananean" (Mt 10:4; Lk 6:15) to distinguish him from Simon Peter; tradition variously places his preaching in Egypt, Persia, Mesopotamia, or the British Isles, with martyrdom by sawing in two in Persia. Joint feast with St. Jude October 28.
