St. Simeon the God-Receiver
Aged Jerusalem righteous man to whom the Holy Spirit had revealed that he would not die before seeing the Christ; took the infant Jesus in his arms in the Temple at the Presentation and pronounced the Nunc Dimittis (Lk 2:25-35). Patron of Candlemas (February 2). Pre-Congregation.
