St. Sampson of Dol
Welsh-Breton bishop (c. 490-c. 565), abbot-bishop trained at Llanilltud Fawr under St. Illtyd; emigrated to Brittany c. 521 and founded the abbey-bishopric of Dol-de-Bretagne, the chief see of Domnonée. One of the seven founder-bishops of Brittany. Pre-Congregation.
