St. Praxedes
Roman virgin (1st or 2nd century, traditional), traditionally a daughter of Senator Pudens with her sister St. Pudentiana; sheltered Christians and gathered the relics of martyrs in her family home, the site of the present Roman titular church of Santa Prassede with its famous 9th-century Byzantine mosaic chapel of St. Zeno. Pre-Congregation.
