St. Pier Giorgio Frassati
Italian layman and university student (1901-1925), of a leading Turin family (his father was an ambassador and senator); Dominican tertiary, mountaineer, anti-fascist member of Catholic Action who quietly devoted his money and time to Turin's poor. Died at 24 of polio caught while serving the sick. Beatified 1990 by John Paul II; canonized 2025 by Leo XIV.
