St. Philip the Evangelist
1st-century deacon, one of the seven first deacons chosen by the apostles (Acts 6:5); evangelist who preached at Samaria and baptized the Ethiopian eunuch on the Gaza road (Acts 8); resided at Caesarea, where his four prophesying daughters lived (Acts 21:8-9). Distinguish from St. Philip the Apostle.
