St. Paulinus of Nola
Gallo-Roman bishop and poet (c. 354-431), of senatorial Aquitanian family, consul of Campania; with his Spanish wife Therasia retreated to Nola after the death of their only child, distributing their wealth and devoting themselves to the cult of St. Felix of Nola. Bishop of Nola from c. 410. Master of late-classical Christian Latin verse. Pre-Congregation.
